This year's National Rivers Clean-up official kick-off is May 31st - June 8th. American Rivers will help you organize or volunteer for a River clean-up near you. Jump in and get your feet wet! Since 1991, more than 600,000 volunteers have participated in thousands of cleanups across the country, covering more than 100,000 miles of waterways. These cleanups have removed more than 1,000 tons of litter and debris from America's rivers and streams.

Under the guise of promoting safer seafood, the President and NOAA have been pushing to allow commercial-scale ocean fish farming in U.S. waters. So much so that they've included it in the Congressional Marine Sanctuaries bill, which weakens the environmental protections of this important legislation. Act now by writing NOAA to eliminate their finfish farming language from the bill, so we can have Marine Sanctuaries that promote the health of all ocean life.
