1SKY is dedicated to magnifying the climate change movement into a society-wide mobilization by communicating a positive vision and passing a coherent set of national policies by 2009. We must mobilize new participants to join the movement, including great representation from a wide swath of communities. The policies we promote will create 5 million green jobs providing pathways out of poverty, reduce carbon emissions by at least 25% by 2020 and at least 80% by 2050, and end the creation of new coal plants.

partner It's not possible to be green without focusing on our energy use because energy production and use account for more than 80% of pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Energy efficiency is the quickest, cheapest, cleanest way to improve our environment and increase our nation's energy supplies. Energy efficiency reduces your energy bills as well as our nation's energy usage and dependence on foreign oil and improves the air we breathe, our respiratory health, and the world we leave behind. view issue

Climate change will have a big impact on the availability of clean water. More frequent and intense droughts and storms will mean less water at times, and more pollution at others. The impacts of global warming could destroy rivers' abilities to provide clean water, benefit local economies, and support wildlife. To ensure that we have enough water to go around, even during times of scarcity, we have to be smarter and more efficient about how we use water. view issue
